Goodwood Festival of Speed Review
Lindstrand Technologies had the opportunity to demonstrate one of their inflatable aircraft hangars to the Goodwood Aeroclub. With the Festival of Speed (one of the UK’s premier automobile shows) just around the corner, LTL and the Aeroclub planned to turn the demonstration into a public event.
A crew of six Lindstrand employees volunteered to spend the weekend installing and demonstrating the hangar during the Festival of Speed. The installation crew arrived at site on the morning of Friday the 3rd July and within a couple of hours the hangar was fully functional.
The initial plans for the hangar to house a Cessna Mustang were scuppered by weather conditions, meaning that the pilots were unable to fly from their local airfields to Goodwood. Luckily, the Aeroclub had the great idea to use their 1943 Harvard (a WWII fighter training aircraft) to demonstrate the hangar. The weekend was a great success, with lots of interest in Lindstrand’s products. Visitors to the site were very impressed with both the quality of the hangar and how robust it is. It was also a great chance for LTL’s design engineers to review live feedback from potential clients.
Lindstrand Technologies would like to thank Goodwood and the Aeroclub for the opportunity to demonstrate the hangar. The Head of Training – Stephen Cooper – wrote to LTL after the event saying….
‘We greatly appreciated the demonstration of your inflatable hangar as well as the presence of Lindstrand Technologies at the Aerodrome during the Festival of Speed. It was a pleasure to meet the team, they were all very helpful and a true credit to your company.’
